The process to create your financial plan usually involves three meetings:
Meeting 1 (complimentary)
During the first meeting we discuss your motivation for calling a planner, your life goals and how financial planning can help you achieve those goals. We talk about the financial planning process including income, expenses, risk management, estate planning, investment planning, tax strategy, financial independence - and how these work together in a personal financial plan. We address the scope of our services and fee range.
Meeting 2
During the second meeting we walk through our summary of your personal financial and life goals and potential strategies to achieve these goals. We make any corrections and updates as necessary. We review the documents and information we requested that you have brought. We discuss our detailed proposal for services and fees. The contract is signed.
Meeting 3
We present your personal financial plan in detail. We discuss and document any changes and follow-up items. We talk about our optional ongoing services.
Between the Meetings
There is much we need to do to get ready for each meeting. We rely upon you to gather the necessary documents and information and to clarify issues and answer our questions. We will provide you with a detailed list of items the planner and client is expected to provide to make this process successful.
