Scott Schwartz CFP®, CIMA®, the founder of SAS Financial Advisors LLC, is a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and is a Certified Investment Management Analyst™.
Mr. Schwartz has been a financial advisor serving individuals, organizations, and businesses since 1994.
He has extensive experience in financial planning, money management and business consulting. Mr. Schwartz had been an independent financial planning and business consultant holding NASD series 7 and 63 registrations managing client assets and advising represented firms on investment banking projects. He chaired the American Airlines Pilots' Pension Committee serving over 12,000 members and managing over $4 Billion in assets. As an active airline captain he acted as treasurer representing over 2,800 TWA pilots for the Airline Pilots Association, Int'l. In this capacity, Schwartz managed the organization's multi-million dollar budget, chaired the pilots' employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) committee and acted as trustee for the pilot's trust fund. He also led the pilot organization's committee that provided corporate fiduciary oversight of liquidity issues and transactional issues involving public offerings, secondary offerings, and merger discussions.
Mr. Schwartz has been a speaker and lecturer in numerous financially-related venues both in the academic and private sectors.
With an undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University, Mr. Schwartz earned his master's degree in business administration (MBA) from City University, focusing on finance and economics. He also completed the financial planning and securities analysis program curriculum at the University of California at Berkeley and completed the Investment Analyst program at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
Mr. Schwartz is married with two daughters and is a native of San Francisco.

Mr. Fateman is a Certified Financial Planner™ with over 14 years experience in financial services. He was an account executive at Dean Witter Reynolds, a Registered Representative with Charles Schwab and founded his own Registered Investment Advisor Fillmore Associates, Inc. which he merged with SAS Financial Advisors in 2004. His responsibilities at Dean Witter included managing non-profit endowments and investment management for a dozen credit unions. His professional career includes psychotherapy and counseling in schools and community settings. A Registered Investment Advisor since 1999, Mr. Fateman holds a Personal Financial Planning certificate from the University of California Berkeley Extension, where he also serves as an instructor. He developed and teaches a class called “Counseling Skills for Financial Services Professionals” with a social worker partner. He has trained financial advisory firms nationally in relationship building skills and presented at regional and national professional conferences. As a partner in SAS Financial Advisors, Mr. Fateman built a growing financial planning and investment management firm based on his expertise in employer granted stock options, estate, investment and retirement planning. Mr. Fateman is an active member of the Financial Planning Association, San Francisco Chapter, and its Pro Bono committee. He earned a B.S. from Cornell University in Industrial and Labor Relations and an M.Ed. in Counseling from Northeastern University.
