Moving your assets

Schwab will automatically transfer your assets and holding from TD Ameritrade Institutional. There’s nothing you need to do.

Your new eight-digit Schwab account number will replace your TD Ameritrade account number.

Standing instructions

Any standing letters of authorization or instructions that you've granted your advisor allowing them to take specific actions for you - such as, cash transfer or domestic wires will transfer to Schwab.

Account Statements

You will receive TWO statements during your next statement period. One from TD Ameritrade & one for your new Schwab Account. If you have residual activity in your account, such as dividend or interest payments you will continue to receive a statement from TD Ameritrade.

Your New Account

If you do not have a log in for Schwab, please go to schwaballiance.com select New Schwab User & follow the prompts.

If you already have a Schwab login ID & password, you are all set!

If you have direct deposit, you will need to update direct deposits or recurring payments set up at other third parties with your new Schwab account number.

If you have actively used checks or debit cards within 24 months, you will receive replacements. After your account transfer is complete, begin using any new check or debit cards you receive. Outstanding checks drawn against your TD Ameritrade account will continue to be processed for approx. 60 days.

Tax Information

You can access your TD Ameritrade 1099 tax forms online at schwab.com/1099dashboard by Sept 5,2023. You will be able to import your TD Ameritrade tax form data directly into Turbo Tax, H&R Block and Tax act software by using your TD Ameritrade account number and the Doc ID found on your tax form.
